ATLAS Hospitals ecstatic over first baby born in 2011!

At ATLAS Hospital - Ruwi, the first sunrise of the New Year saw Manal Faqheruddin Fathima, resident of the Central Bank District, getting ready for her elective delivery. Saturday at 09.26 AM, Mohammed Moosa Azher became Atlas Hospital’s first baby born in 2011 and the first newborn ever on any New Year’s Day in the history of Atlas Hospital. The medical team performed the procedures were headed by Dr. Pallavi Mishra, Obstetrician/Gynecologist along with the Anesthetist Dr. Rajesh T. Eapen, and the Pediatrician Dr. Santhosh Ramaswamy. The healthy baby boy, Mohammed weighed 2.9 kilograms and was 48.5 centimeters long.

“I knew that it’s the time, and was sure that we will be rushing to the hospital either on the New Year’s Eve or on the New Year’s Day. But, I didn’t know if it is going to be a boy or a girl.” Manal said. “He is actually very active. As soon as we had him, he was wide awake.” Manal added of her son’s temperament.

“He seems to be enjoying the New Year,” said little Mohammed’s father, Mohammed Manzoor Azher.

The same day, two other mothers gave birth on at the facility in Atlas Star Medical Centre, Al Ghoubra. The deliveries lead by the Gynecologist Dr. Bindukumari and the neonatal resuscitation by Dr. Babitha, Pediatrician.
