Oman’s ATLAS Hospital celebrates Delivery of First Baby!

ATLAS Hospital celebrated the birth of the first baby ever delivered at the facility at 09:40AM on Thursday, November 11. Healthy baby girl, Ridaa Batool, weighed 2.9 kilograms and measured 47 centimeters long. The baby was delivered by cesarean section performed by obstetrician/gynecologist Dr. Pallavi Shukla Misra and the team of attending doctors consisted of Dr. Rajesh Eapen – Anesthetist and Dr. Santosh Ramaswamy – Pediatrician.

Proud parents Safiya and Injaz, who already have two boys, were thrilled to welcome a baby girl into their family. They were ecstatic after the delivery as they had planned to be the first parents to deliver their child at the new hospital. “We are so excited that ATLAS Hospital was open around the time of the expected birth of our baby and we are so pleased that my wife was able to deliver here.” said Injaz surrounded by family and holding his baby daughter. As a special gift Ridaa was presented with a gold coin as a symbol of luck as well a “Privilege Card” which entitles her to one year of free consultations at ATLAS Hospital by Dr. Rajagopal Naganathan the Medical Director.

The surgery went smoothly for mother and baby. “The new hospital is a wonderful place, it feels like home. I love the rooms - they are nice and big and very family-oriented” remarked Safiya of the high quality facilities at ATLAS. The newly launched hospital in Ruwi is the flagship hospital of the ATLAS Group and features spacious labor and delivery rooms, state-of-the art technology and extra amenities to mimic the comforts of home. In addition, ATLAS offers an extensive range of medical care programs, easy access to doctors and a wide range of specialties. The 50 bedded, multi specialty hospital has two modern operating theatres, well-equipped intensive care units and special care baby units sprawling over 4000 square meters. The hospital is located near Sheraton Hotel in Ruwi on the way to Wadi Kabir.
