The ATLAS store was inaugurated by Dr. M.M. Ramachandran, the Chairman of ATLAS Jewellery Group and in the august presence of Mr. Sunil Bhattiya, CEO of Global Village – India Pavilion. The ceremony was done in the presence of other eminent business personalities as well. 

After the traditional lighting of the lamp, chocolates were distributed to the gathering and the new showroom was open for business. The auspicious first sale was done by Mrs. Srilatha Manikandan. “We traditionally purchase gold ornaments from ATLAS because of the wide range of Jewellery and the excellent customer service. The showroom looks excellent and I am sure I will be coming back with my family and friends” said Mrs. Srilatha.

No glitz, no glamor but plenty of activity!

ATLAS Hospital – Oman has celebrated its first year anniversary at its brand new location in Ruwi, Muscat. There was no glitz, no glamor, no pomp but plenty of activity! Members of the community celebrated this milestone with an energetic blood donation camp at the hospital premises. The camp was conducted in association with Dept of Blood Services, Ministry of Health (Baushar Blood bank). The camp witnessed around 70 donors comprised of Omanis, expats and ATLAS employees.

Our aim in organizing the camp was to help fulfill the needs of the Omani people for safe, reliable and cost-effective blood transfusions at times of need and to help maintain a stable blood supply. A secondary goal was to promote local awareness about the important need for voluntary blood donation. The transfusion of blood and blood components helps to save the lives of countless patients suffering from a wide range of illnesses.

During the course of the year we have held special camps on various occasions such as Omani Women’s Day, Renaissance Day, etc. In fact, we just completed our annual blood donation camp at ATLAS Star Medical Center in Ghoubra. But the enthusiastic participation of our donors was inspirational and never gets old. One of them commented "I do this periodically to experience the wonderful feeling derived from giving something vital to an unknown person who needs it."

“The demand for blood is many: from accident victims to cancer patients and children with blood disorders. Donating blood is a noble act. It is a significant contribution to our society. The bottom line is that donating blood can save lives. We are very proud of this initiative to mark our first year anniversary.” said Dr. M.M. Ramachandran, Chairman & Founder of the ATLAS Jewellery & Group.

ATLAS celebrates World Autism Awareness Day!

ATLAS celebrated World Autism Awareness Day on Friday April 1, 2011 by participating in a walk from Bareeq Al Shatti to Qurum Park in Muscat. The walk was organized by The Autism Awareness Group of Oman with active participation from the Association of Early Intervention and the Sultan School. The ATLAS family showed our support with volunteers, medical staff and support staff along with the ATLAS Hospital ambulance team joining in.

The event united more than a hundred participants, consisting of students, parents, teachers and friends, to drive awareness of issues affecting the autism community and to help improve the lives of families and individuals living with autism. And as is true for most people with disabilities, people with autism often suffer a double burden. They confront the daily challenges of their condition but they must also cope with the negative attitudes of society. With no known cause or cure, early detection and intervention are key to helping children with Autism and their families get the help they need. Here’s hoping that further research and awareness will help create a better, inclusive and caring society for all.

ATLAS Hospital celebrates first twin delivery!

It was a proud moment for ATLAS Hospital on 09th March, 2010 when it celebrated the first twin delivery to take place in its premises since the inauguration of the hospital in September 2010.

Proud parents Yasmin & Anas Sedqi, welcomed the twins into their family on 9th March, 2011. They were very lucky to be blessed with a son and a daughter on the same day. The baby girl, Meira was born at 11:26 pm and weighed 2.0 kg at birth while the baby boy, Mohammed was born at 11:33 pm and weighed 2.6 kg at birth. It is noteworthy that both the babies were born by normal vaginal delivery. The delivery was conducted by the Gynecologist at Atlas Hospital, Dr. Pallavi Shukla Misra. The entire process of labour and the post delivery recovery period was uneventful.

ATLAS Hospitals ecstatic over first baby born in 2011!

At ATLAS Hospital - Ruwi, the first sunrise of the New Year saw Manal Faqheruddin Fathima, resident of the Central Bank District, getting ready for her elective delivery. Saturday at 09.26 AM, Mohammed Moosa Azher became Atlas Hospital’s first baby born in 2011 and the first newborn ever on any New Year’s Day in the history of Atlas Hospital. The medical team performed the procedures were headed by Dr. Pallavi Mishra, Obstetrician/Gynecologist along with the Anesthetist Dr. Rajesh T. Eapen, and the Pediatrician Dr. Santhosh Ramaswamy. The healthy baby boy, Mohammed weighed 2.9 kilograms and was 48.5 centimeters long.

“I knew that it’s the time, and was sure that we will be rushing to the hospital either on the New Year’s Eve or on the New Year’s Day. But, I didn’t know if it is going to be a boy or a girl.” Manal said. “He is actually very active. As soon as we had him, he was wide awake.” Manal added of her son’s temperament.

“He seems to be enjoying the New Year,” said little Mohammed’s father, Mohammed Manzoor Azher.

The same day, two other mothers gave birth on at the facility in Atlas Star Medical Centre, Al Ghoubra. The deliveries lead by the Gynecologist Dr. Bindukumari and the neonatal resuscitation by Dr. Babitha, Pediatrician.
